I guess I am one of the biggest 'Studio Ghibli-fans on this planet... I simply LOVE (almost) every single one of its animes, especially 'Princess Mononoke', which is my alltime favourite movie... May the gods bless Hayao Miyazaki...

I wasn't a big fan of 'Laputa - Castle in the Sky' at first, but then there was a little scene with a robot and a flower and then this magical movie had me...

This is my tribute to that film. It's not the flying castle Laputa itself, but some of the others, which once dominated the skies...

The little girl in the blue dress beneath it represents the many strong female characters in all of the Ghibli-animes. Here, she seems somehow a bit melancholic to me... Maybe she sees her lost dreams in the sky or maybe the destructive powers within those flying castles make her afraid... Maybe she mourns for mankind, which became able to turn the world into ashes...

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I heard basically only two musical numbers while I was drawing this artwork...
